Down Syndrome Fair +

A few weekends ago we went to a down syndrome fair and spent time with some great friends of ours. We had a great time playing games and learning. Then we participated in the big "walk". It was a beautiful day and a great time!

After the walk we had lunch:

After lunch I was starting to clean up and pack up and J told me had to go pee. So I was in the middle of telling him "I'll take you as soon as I get lunch cleaned up," but he was gone before I got the words cleaned up. If you look in that picture there is a grassy patch beside the pavilion where we are. He was out there with his pants down! I ran out to assist so the stream wouldn't drip! What you can't see in the pic is that there are lots of people around. Most of them getting a good chuckle out of my little one who said to me, "Mom! I'm watering the flowers!"

Here is M on her way to school one day. Miss P's mom made that bow for her! It is a fabulous Halloween bow. So sweet of her.

Here is another shot before school started. I had to capture the outfit and accessories M decided to wear that day:

First pumpkin of the year: M asked for a flower-so she got one! (Incidentally, I baked that pumpkin and made it into delicious pumpkin soup!)

M's Halloween ghost nails:

Here we are the morning of the Primary Program. M was feeling great and I think it kinda shows in the pics. She was a trouper though, and said her lines beautifully and sang her trio beautifully! (When she first went up the teacher was going to help her, and she whispered, "I don't need help-I can do it by myself!" And then proceeded to say her memorized scripture.) I am one proud mama! (J also got to stand up and sing one song with the big kids. He was waving at the audience throughout the whole song!)

One Wonderful Day

My amazing parents dropped in for a visit! We were so happy to have them here! Even if it were for only one day. The kids thought they were coming on Friday so we let it be a surprise that they were coming on Thursday. The kids were on the couch watching tv when Grandpa came out and M's eyes got so big and she jumped and gave him a huge hug! It was so sweet. J just sat on the couch. Grandpa said, "hi J, do you remember me?" J said yes. I said, "give Grandpa a hug." J said, "I can't cuz I'm nakey."
We started the day with some delicious RHPs! So very very yummy.

After fixing our hair and doing a little playing

we went to Silver Beach to show the out-of-towners the lake:

Then we had a yummy lunch at Moe's. When we got home we rested and played.
(I have a video of J and Grandpa exercising together but it's not working. Maybe I can get it to work later.)

Then we walked down to the park:

I thought these were sweet pictures-until I noticed they were holding hands!! Melt my heart! I had to take a few more:

Meanwhile Grandpa and M were inspecting acorns:

After the park we went home and ate supper (not worthy of pics). Played and talked and enjoyed being with one another. We tried to make the most of our day with our parents/grandparents whom we love so very much. We love them and wish them the best in their new adventure!

Sand Dunes

We went to play in the sand dunes twice last month. One for fun and one for fun on Labor Day with some friends. Both times were fun! I wish these pictures did justice to how high these dunes are. It is hard work to get to the top! We had a blast climbing and playing in the sand.

This picture is from only half way up:

The other side (it basically looks like a jungle ravine):

From the top (isn't the lake beautiful?) :

My husband, the archaeologist:

If you scroll a little fast you will get the whole story like a picture flip book (of the next four pics)!
