Dinosaur World

The kids and I had a great adventure in July. It all started with Dinosaur World! Every time we make the trek to MS we see a giant dinosaur on the highway and the kids beg to go there. So this summer we made a plan and finally got to see what it was all about. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. We had fun, but it wasn't the best thing we have ever done. And, I'm not sure it was worth the money. And to make matters worse Dinosaur World is so close to Mammoth Cave; so the whole time we were there I was thinking why aren't we at Mammoth Cave?? Also, we aren't used to heat and humidity so it was a little on the miserable side for us in terms of temperature! So here is your personal tour of Dino World with your hosts M and J:

  J was the map holder:
The shaded walking "garden" of dinosaurs was my  favorite part of the whole place. These guys were huge!! This one's name is allosaurus:

Here is the dino we always see on the highway:
If you look closely you can see our sweaty selves at the feet of this giant.
And here the kids got to be paleontologists and uncover a stegosaurus:

Here the kids got to dig out real fossils in a sand table and keep their favorite three. They both really enjoyed it.

Apparently after this I was too hot and bothered to take any more pictures! There was also a video we watched, a museum we went through, and a playground we played on. I also successfully got them through the enormous gift shop without breaking or buying anything! After Dino World we checked into our hotel, ate dinner at Cracker Barrel, and then went swimming. The kids loved being out and doing something other than our normal routine. They think staying in a hotel is awesome sauce so we just had a great time all around!
